RE-RE-RECYCLABLE
RE-RE-RECYCLABLE
Unlike brick, cement, wood, and many other building materials, metal can be recycled again and again without loss of quality. Many metals, like aluminum and steel, continually recover their original performance properties, even after multiple times of recycling, allowing them to be used over and over. In fact, the majority of the metal used in buildings is collected and recycled after use. However, non-metallic materials often degrade after recycling, resulting in a loss of strength, durability and aesthetic appeal. Shouldn’t you use the greenest, and most recyclable, construction products?

WE DO DECLARE
WE DO DECLARE
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) provide life-cycle assessments and details about a product’s environmental impact from raw-material extraction, transportation, packaging, disposal, and more. Thus, EPDs can assist purchasers like you in making informed comparisons among products. The MCA recently compiled data to publish EPDs for Insulated Metal Panels, Single Skin Panels, and Metal Composite Panels. Go ahead and click. We dare you to compare the environmental impact of metal construction products vs. other materials.

LEEDING THE WAY
LEEDING THE WAY
Metal construction products also contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points, which are awarded to buildings that use high recycled content and other “green” construction materials. As an example, low slope metal roofs can contribute to LEED credits because they typically contain at least 25% recycled content, and at the end of a long useful life are 100% recyclable.
