| METAL ORIGAMI |
|
Legacy ER in Allan, Texas is a uniquely welcoming building. Winner of MCA’s Chairman Award of Overall Excellence in 2014, this exceptional freestanding emergency and urgent care clinic is described by some as “metal origami,” with a shape that looks as though it is folded from paper.

| A UNIQUE EXPRESSION IN METAL |
|
The essence of this building is its roof wall. The architectural expression of these folded panels could have only been accomplished in metal. The large slopping soffits are clad with striated patterning and perforated reveal panels. Every surface is detailed similarly, which further emphasizes the folded planes. The design uses metal in such a unique way: as a vale, as a screen, as a sunshade, even as a lighted foil against the signage.

|
Many believe this building design brings patients a higher level of comfort, easing their worries as they enter this unique and fascinating building. No wonder Legacy ER was honored nationally as an environment that supports healing.
