MCA ANNOUNCES THE 2ND ANNUAL METALCON METAL ROOFING CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

September 2, 2015 -- CHICAGO, IL – The Metal Construction Association (MCA) announces the 2nd annual MCA / METALCON Metal Roofing Championship Games to be held at the METALCON show October 14-16, 2015 at the Tampa Convention Center. Themed 'Battle by the Bay', a new game has been added this year for a total of five different challenges where contractors compete to win cash prizes.

 

Challenges involve the proper use of screw guns and seamers, and installing retrofit sub-framing, standing seam roof panels, snow retention and other common rooftop accessories. Competitors can enter as individuals or teams of two for each game at Booth 109.  Prior to the start of each game, the game sponsor will draw the competitors from the registrations. Each competitor must sign a waiver of liability prior to competing. A $100cash prize will be awarded to the winner or winning team of each challenge.

 

Games will be held all three days of METALCON during exhibit hall hours. The games schedule is as follows:

 

Wednesday and Thursday, October 14-15

12:45 PM - Triangle Fastener’s Screw Gun Challenge

1:45 PM - Roof Hugger’s Hug a Roof Challenge

2:45 PM - New Tech Machinery’s Standing Seam Install with D.I Roof Seamers Panel Seaming Challenge

3:45 PM - The S-5 Snow Retention “Let It Snow” Challenge

4:45 PM - Triangle Fastener’s “JJ’s Give it a Boot” Challenge          

 

Friday, October 16

10:30 AM - Triangle Fastener’s Screw Gun Challenge

11:15 AM - Roof Hugger’s Hug a Roof Challenge

12:15 PM - New Tech Machinery’s Standing Seam Install with DI Roof Seamers Panel Seaming Challenge

1:15 PM - The S-5 Snow Retention “Let It Snow” Challenge

 

The local Florida chapter of the Metal Building Erectors and Contractors Association (MBCEA) will judge the competition. Other Sponsors are Drexel Metals, ECHOtape, MBCI, McElroy Metal, Milspec Industries and SFS Intec.
