CHICAGO, IL – March 2018 – A hospital expands, a historic building goes green, a soccer club makes a statement, and a food storage facility survives a hurricane with the help of metal building materials. Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky was growing and needed more patient rooms, so the organization looked to expand. With the help of a lightweight metal wall system the designers were able to double the size of the expansion, gaining additional rooms from a limited footprint. See the case study >
A retrofit of Lafayette College’s historic Bushkill Commons in Easton, PA is an example of adaptive building reuse, utilizing sustainable design, products, and energy efficiency. Insulated metal wall panels were incorporated into the building to help achieve those objectives. See the case study >
The Orlando City Soccer Club in Orlando, Florida wanted an intense and intimate stadium design that fit within the neighboring community. Structurally, the design team needed a material that provided lighter exterior cladding structural load that met R-values and lifespan requirements. Metal panels met the challenge. Sterling Merchandising, a food storage facilityin Bayamon, Puerto Rico was constructed with insulated metal roof and wall panels and survived the category four hurricane with no leaks and minimal damage. See the case study >
