The Wonderful Company grows, packages and ships its Halo brand of Clementine mandarins worldwide. Their Delano warehouse, constructed in the heart of California’s citrus belt in the San Joaquin Valley, offered a fun opportunity to extend the company’s popular brand.
The panels needed to be smooth and appear seamless to render the building with the same shape, coloring and logos as the product’s unique in-store cardboard packaging. Flat (FL40)
Architectural Wall Panels from All Weather Insulated Panels (AWIP) were the ideal choice to create the aesthetic effect while helping to insulate the citrus against the Valley’s triple-digit summer temperatures.
AWIP's IMPs provided outstanding spanning capabilities, rigidity and ease of construction. They cover 35,000 square feet of the warehouse, which now is considered one of the largest branding expressions on a building in California. As cars pass by on Highway 99, the building looks as if a friendly giant had left a box of Halos behind.
IMPs Empower New York Power Authority
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) had released a plan detailing the company’s commitment to sustainability in all aspects of their business. Honoring this policy, the goal was to construct their new Niagara Warehouse and Office Complex to LEED® Gold Standard.
The 58,000-square-foot, $23.5 million facility needed to store materials, supplies and equipment in support of the project’s 2,441-megawatt hydroelectric operation. CENTRIA’s SRS roof panels, Formawallinsulated metal panels, MetalWrap Series backup panels, Formavue 200 windows, and Construction Specialties Louvers and Sunshades were used to meet the demand.
The result? An energy-efficient building that can endure frequent precipitation and a wide variety of temperatures because of its proximity to Niagara Falls.
Wine Gone Green
Premium Wine Storage needed to expand its operations in Sonoma Valley to include a new 20,000 square foot bulk wine storage facility. To successfully and legally store wine, no humidity or sunlight was acceptable.
Kingspan's KingZip standing seam roof panels combined with 300 Series Azteco insulated wall panels created an integrated building envelope to meet the requirements as well as California’s green building codes and carbon emissions standards.
The Kingspan panel systems provided a high degree of design flexibility to help create a facility with a high level of aesthetics. Kingspan IMPs simplified installation as a single component system increased build speed, minimized construction delays and required fewer trades. These advantages can reduce installation times by up to 50% compared to traditional multi-part systems.
